Hi! I'm Ryan Canuel, otherwise known as SightlessEye or Crow the Songbird. I'm a 22 year old independent Renaissance Faire bard, online musician, game developer, programmer, and jack of all trades.

I love entertaining people! I do whatever I can to spread joy and make sure every one around me is having a good time. I'm an exuberant bard who's always ready to rabble-rouse, make mischief, and get into silly shenanigans. My shows are filled with music to cheer for, puns to groan at, and a performance that’s an adventure from start to finish! I know a lot of renaissance faire music- Irish folk, sea shanties, and a lot of other pieces to clap and sing along to, sung with ukulele and sometimes a bonus kazoo. I have a lot of passion, and I pour all of it into my work, be it on stage or online. I create because it is my calling, and I always want to craft an experience that the audience is never going to forget.
My Experience
Yeah, yeah, I was getting around to the important stuff...
I have been singing and entertaining audiences for my entire life. In 2016, I sang alongside the professional choir Ember with my high school's Symphonic Choir. Also in 2016, I performed at the WGI Winter Guard World Championships, and placed in the top 10% in our class, worldwide.
Now, onto the medieval matters! I've been practicing playing characters in improvisational, immersive theater at my LARP, Laire, since 2016. I've been volunteering at the Sparta New Jersey Renaissance Festival since 2019, as Crow of the Rogues' Guild. In 2022, I joined the New Jersey Renaissance Faire as a contracted actor in their Supporting Cast, and I've been an independent performer as Crow the Songbird since my debut at the Sparta Renaissance Faire in their 2022 season. I've been playing the ukulele for 9 years, and singing my entire life!
As for the online stuff, I have an Associate's Degree in Computer Science from Raritan Valley Community College. I've also finished the core game development classes at RVCC, and studied the digital video courses of Game Maker's Toolkit, Extra Credits, Architect of Games, in my spare time. I've participated in several game jams, and you can see the finished works here.
